TOURS

We're excited to offer you complimentary tours of the PSFC and Commonwealth Fusion Systems!

You can sign up for tours during the conference registration process. As we get closer to the start of the conference we will update you with salient details.

Tour the Commonwealth Fusion Systems campus in Devens, MA

During registration you will have the option to register to tour the Commonwealth Fusion Systems (CFS) campus in Devens, Massachusetts. The organized tour is planned for after the technical program ends on the final day of the conference — Thursday 26 June 2025.

Tour registration

Registration is required and available only through the conference registration form. Registration for the CFS tour will close on 1 June 2025.

A few notes as you consider and prepare for the tour. The CFS campus is home to the CFS Headquarters, an active manufacturing facility, and the SPARC Facility which is currently under construction. The tour route includes climbing stairs, and walking on unpaved, uneven ground through the construction site.

Dress code

For your safety the dress code requires that everyone wear long pants (skirts and shorts are not permitted) and closed-toed shoes with hard soles (sandals, high heels, ballet flats are not permitted).

Transport & duration

You will be picked up at a specified location at MIT and bused to and from CFS, as an important part of the tour begins on your bus ride over. The guided tour of the CFS campus is 45 minutes long. Devens is about an hour away from MIT's campus with no traffic. So please plan on a three- to three-and-a-half-hour commitment.

Departures from MIT will be staggered starting at 1:30PM ET. You will receive a message after tour registration closes asking you to sign up for a tour slot.

Based on the estimated duration of each tour, the last bus may return to MIT as late as 7:30–8:00PM ET, depending on traffic conditions.

Please note that guests are not permitted to travel to the site in personal vehicles.

Tour the Plasma Science & Fusion Center on MIT's main campus

On Monday (6/23) and Tuesday (6/24) we will be offering an hour-long tour of the PSFC's largest lab on Albany Street, just a few minutes' walk from Kresge Auditorium, the conference's primary venue. Learn more about the exciting research we're conducting and about the history of the PSFC.

Each tour is capped at 25 people. Because it is a working lab, we require that you wear close-toed, hard-soled shoes, and long pants for the tour. You can register either for Monday or Tuesday during the conference registration process.
